Why did they do that? Not a clever move... trying to lie so infamously! Bad move (of them!)!
Now, for you, it's a big point! All the acting and dynamics from them trying to hide the truth from Rob was suspense with a comical touch. Wonderful! Sam's lost face was a subtle genious touch!
