You know how much I love angst (sorry cannot help) specially Mike angst! I enjoyed this fic a lot, it would be interesting to read a follow up on this or maybe another point of view, maybe Mike's? and as Penelope's fic is not fair something this good is only a one shot. When you told me you were writing a one shot, this was NOT what I was expecting lol but it never is! I love that about you, you ALWAYS surprise me. Our brains work so differently, so stuff like this always makes me gasp. It's so raw and rough, and that comes through from start to finish. There's no pretty edges or room for heartfelt feelings. It's all need and desperation and every other carnal emotion.

I feel bad for Mike. I don't quite get the concept of punishing himself over Chester being with Sam, but I can feel his reaction to it. You know? People do crazy things and they make it make sense in their heads, and that's how I take this. It's Mike, in his sad little head, trying to even things out somehow. And not for the good. It's not good for him. And Rob, idk. I think what really got me was the ending, with the bit about Chester will be glaring at him, and he'll stare blankly back, like he always does. There's obviously a lot under the surface for all of them. I agree with one of the other reviewers, it's a bummer this is a one shot and we won't get to watch you unearth this mess of sex and love and possession.

But be that as it may, I'm glad you took the time to write it and share it with us. This little glimpse into the chaos that happens in hotel rooms and behind closed doors among friends.

Ugh, that ending. I have to say it again. Not just the glaring daggers part, but the part with Mike not looking at Rob after and taking a shower and coming back with a different look - a fake look of "I'm okay" even though he's really not. And Rob KNOWS he's not! It makes me want to scream too!

So there you go. You got my feelers all riled up lol

What a sad little story. I wish it was longer, because it seems to me that this oneshot has the potential to become a long and full-scale drama. It evokes so many questions and feelings, and you can't help wondering how they all ended up in such a complicated situation and how they are going to handle it.
