Chapter: 14

Update ? Pretty please...

Chapter: 14

I had a feeling about Pastor Steve. I can't remember why. Either something you implied or said directly made me think that he was sympathetic to Mike and Chester's situation. So that's interesting. I'm not sure that he will be able to change the elder Shinoda's minds, but kudos to him for having the idea to call. I guess we'll see how that goes.

I feel bad for Mike and Ches, but maybe a little more for Jason. He didn't do anything wrong. To take away his sports, and punish him for something Mike did (which isn't even a thing to punish your kid for!!) is terribly wrong. I am not a fan of the parents in this story, AT ALL.

Chapter: 14

I'm always so happy to see a new chapter of this wonderful story! Whenever it's been a while since the last update, I always get scared you decided to not continue the story, so a new update is always a nice surprise :)

Anyway. This chapter made me feel so angry. Ugh! Mike's parents are terrible, I absolutely cannot understand why any parent would act like that in such a situation. And punishing Jason, too? Because he didn't rat out his own brother? I don't even have words for this anymore.

Sooo, pastor Steve is gay/bi, too? If this has been mentioned in earlier chapters and I forgot, I apologize, but this fact was new to me and could be a game changer for the rest of the story. It was interesting to see that the pastor had his own story to tell, and I sincerely hope that he calls Mrs. Shinoda and can talk some sense and most of all empathy into her.

Please update soon :)

Chapter: 14

This whole chapter was sad, until the very end! Okay, I LOVE this idea of the Pastor Steve calling Mrs. Shinoda on Mike's behalf and sharing whatever boyfriend/crush story from his past that might help. It HAS to help. I know there are all kinds of different parents out there, and some take their kids coming out much better than others. But punishing Mike the way they are (and Jason) is just heartbreaking. Especially pulling Jason from the football team. It's beyond me, as a parent, to understand the logic behind that. Other than to simply assert power, which is just wrong.

I am very glad to see all of Chester's positive thoughts. He's got a plan/goals and he's working hard and making steps to meet those, which I think it great. I love seeing him be so driven. Again I say, Ryan is a good friend in this story, which is where he fits best :) much love to Ryan, in this story and in real life.

Okay, I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. I hope it helps and isn't just one more thing that falls flat.

Chapter: 13

I agree with everyone else. Mike's mom isn't helping. She can't stand up to Muto, and clearly she doesn't have much of a say when it comes down to how things are going to be. It's very sad. In a way, she's just as trapped as Mike.

Mike's dad is a complete ass. There's not much more to say. He's insulting and refuses to even listen. I give Mike props for going up and trying to make the conversation happen, since Muto wouldn't even meet him halfway. Nothing screams "I don't care" louder than not even showing up.

I'm glad they have Ryan, and he's adult enough to recognize he's dealing with minors and there are very real things that could get him in trouble. I'm glad Mike didn't bring him up. I would hate to see the Shinodas try and bring charges or something ridiculous like that against Ryan. If Mike runs away, he can't go to Ryan's. That would be bad.

I have older teenagers. I've never taken their phones away, but I know people who have done that to their kids. It's cruel. That's their connection to the outside world, to their friends. Good or bad, that's part of their world. It seems wrong to take that away as punishment.

Chapter: 13

My heart was so sad as the boys said goodbye in the car. *sigh* That was so hard to read, especially knowing what was likely coming.

I don’t like Mike’s mom. Either she’s supportive or she’s not. I don’t like her acting like she wants Mike to be safe, and then drags him back into that environment with his dad. His dad is an asshole and I wouldn’t blame Mike one bit if he just ran away. In fact, I’m kind of rooting for it.

Chapter: 13

Noooo! I knew this would come. Ugh, why can't Mike's parents be more understanding for his situation? Especially his dad is just a terrible person and father. He won't even listen to his son and certainly not apologize to neither Mike nor Chester. I could rant for hours about people like him...

Maybe, just maybe there is a chance he will change his mind in the course of this story?

Mike's mom isn't my favourite person, either. She wants Mike to be home and safe, but I'm not sure if she's trying to understand and accept him for who he is. I'm so angry that his parents took the wednesday youthgroup (and every chance to see Chester) away from him. I guess he'll lose his phone and internet priviledges, as well.

Thus, I really hope he can use his brother's or Brad's phone to contact Chester. Maybe they could meet at Ryan's place? He seems like the responsible adult Mike needs in this situation. He's a good friend who is aware that he can't keep Mike from his parents because he's a minor, but I could also see Ryan allowing Mike and Ches to secretly meet at his place.

Can't wait for more!

PS: I'm happy you updated this quickly :)

Chapter: 12

Woho, you are back with this story!! :)

And with such a nice chapter; cuddling and pancakes, everything they both needed after the disaster the evening before and everything they deserve. Ryan is such a good friend and I like how Mike and Ches are just so close and supportive of each other.

But Ryan is right, he cannot have Mike hiding at his place, there is a certain responsibility towards minors. And maybe it was a shock for Mike's parents, knowing that he just walked out on them and not knowing if he was ok and where he was. Maybe it made them think about their behaviour? I really hope so!

Chapter: 12

I wish I could wake up to someone making me pancakes. That sounds so good right now. Ryan is a great friend, and a level-headed one. I'm glad he thinks of the consequences of Mike and Chester being at his place, since they are minors. It's good that he doesn't try to hide them or something, it could get him in trouble. I am also not super hopeful that Mike's conversation with his parents will go very well, but he won't know until he goes home and confronts it. I'm glad you are still writing this! I'm interested to know how it all turns out.

Chapter: 12

Believe it or not, in the days prior to this update, I wondered if you'd stopped working on your stories or if you'd update them in the near future. And then BOOM! A new chapter! I was so happy to see this updated :) Also, your writing is NOT rusty, don't even think that for a second!

I'm glad Ryan is being the 'responsible adult' that Chester and Mike need in their situation. He's right - they are minors and he can't let them stay with him without their parents' permission. Mike has to face his parents again, and I'm sure that conversation is going to go badly, but he still has to go home. However, I think that he now has a place to go with Chester when he needs it. Ryan is gonna be a good freind to both of them.

I liked that part about Ryan thinking that while Chester is skinny, "the kid can eat" xD I bet that was so true :)

Please update soon :) I'm ready for the next chapter (actually I'm ready for the next 10 chapters). You can be sure that we're still very interested in reading your stories!

Chapter: 12

I was both happy and shocked to see this updated! I was worried you gave up on it, and I was sad :( but you haven't :D

I think Ryan's a great friend. And I really appreciate that he puts his foot down and tells Mike he needs to talk to his parents/go home. It would be awful for Ryan to get into legal trouble because he was only trying to help.

I think it's great that Chester offered to go with Mike to talk with his dad, but I agree with Mike. He needs to do it on his own. He is only 16 and if that means he and Chester can't see each other right now, that might have to be how it is until he's an adult and out on his own.

One last thing. Mike and Chester racing for the bathroom. It was cute, but more than that it was a stark reminder of the fact that they're kids. Even though they're transitioning into being adults, and starting to feel adult emotions and desires, they're still kids. *sigh*

Please update again soon. I thought your writing was nice, so no worries there :)

Chapter: 11

I know it's taken me forever to review. :( sorry... real life has been kicking my ass lately.

Being the Jason lover that I am, I feel bad for him in this chapter. Being left behind to deal with and hear everything from his parents is almost as bad as being kicked out. At least Mike doesn't have to deal with them, and he has somewhere to go, thanks to Chester's friendship with Ryan. I'm glad they have each other, too. It's promising that Mike's mom wants to talk, so I hope that goes well. Moms are like that, they want to protect their babies. She's probably sick worrying. :( I hope she can get Mike's dad to come around. In the meantime, I hope the boys get some sleep on Ryan's tiny couch! (And by sleep, I mean more time for ass-grabbing and kisses!)

Chapter: 11

Dialogue is good. Don't ever doubt it. I feel for Jason, and I hate to think about what is "really" going on at home. It makes me question his mom's sudden change in mood. But she's a desperate mother at this point, probably ready to say anything just to make sure her kid is okay/safe.

I love how nice/sweet Ryan is in this story. He's a good friend, and I hope he doesn't get in trouble for harboring runaway teens.

Obviously Mike will have to talk to his parents eventually. I hope his dad will cool down long enough to talk things through :/

I kinda adore how they stayed glued to each other. I think that's just part of being young and scared and unsure. It's a strong image.

Update soon :)

Chapter: 11

I really liked this chapter, I don't mind dialogues at all and I think your writing is great. Don't worry about it too much (I know, easier said than done but I mean it).

Ches and Mike are just so adorable and Ryan is such a good friend. I'm glad that he can provide them not only with shelter but also with a few heartfelt and funny words. It was needed. I think it is impressive how well Mike is handling this. Yes, he clings to Ches and he seems upset but after the shit that went down I would not be surprised if he would be a non-functional mess. But he isn't and that's good!

The way the two of them are holding on to each other and finding reinsurance in each other is just heartwarming. That's exactly how it should be and I'm glad that they see it as strength and not as weakness to be together. Also, the making out on the couch, that was just hot.

And Jayson deserves an award for being such a great brother. First for checking in and making sure that Mike is ok and then also for still protecting him, from the words of their parents.

Not sure about the intentions of Mike's mother. Maybe she should give him the chance to calm down first? And it's not going to help if she wants to talk and wants him back bis his dad is still being an asshole about it. No way he can go back home when his dad isn't changing his mind.

Chapter: 11

Ohhh, a new chapter! Thanks for updating this so quickly after the last chapter. Also, please don't worry or doubt your writing abilities! Your writing is great and we all love it!

Now to the actual chapter: I loved that it picked up where the previous one ended. It's good to see that for now, Mike and Chester are safe at Ryan's place, and I think it was obvious that they'll have NO problem at all with sharing the couch. they're so in love with each other, it's beautiful.

The phone call with Jason was really worrying, though, because Jason told Mike not even half of what's going on at home. I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing, and I'm still mad at his father. Ugh, such a homophobic ass. His mother seems to be really concerned about her son, and I hope they can talk sometime, but I'm sure that dad will ruin it.

Please update soon, I love this story!

Chapter: 10

What a homophobic asshole!! You can be shocked, you can be confused, you can might even be angry; but you can't react in any form of violence and setting your son out on the street. NO! There is no excuse for that.

But sadly, I also have to disagree with Mike, when he says that he doesn't care as long as he is together with Ches. It's not that easy. His family is still his family, even though his dad is an asshole. And where is he planning to go now? I bet showing up at Chester's mum's doorstep is also not the best idea...? I hate that they have to face these problems. Argh...

Makes me angry at the society (and in this case religion as well). That was, btw, a really great moment, when Mike shoves into his dads face tat he met Ches at the church-thing. I had to laugh a bit about that, even though the whole situation was so tense and horrible.

Chapter: 10

I completely agree with Pen's review, Mike's dad went way too far and was too brutal with dragging Chester up from under the bed, and then even slapping his own son in the face. Such a dickhead. (Sorry for the cursing, but it's necessary). How can a parent be so insensitive? I want to jump into your story and have a family intervention. Plus, I hope Jason will be okay, and the parents won't give him hell for trying to cover for Mike and Chester.

Hopefully they can stay with Ryan and later Mike can talk it all out with his parents. I love drama, but I also love happy endings, so I'm kind of conflicted about what I want for the next few chapters xD

Please update soon, this is one of my favourite stories here!

Chapter: 10

Wow, Mr. Shinoda is a serious dick. Dude. Like, seriously. My jaw just about dropped off my mouth. Like, how could you treat your son that way? And the way he manhandled Chester - an underage stranger - is just crazy. I totally understand why Mike broke down after they left. He really did push it that extra bit, he should have kept those jabs to himself. *sigh* Youth. Everything is ride or die. You know?

I hope they can stay at Ryan's, and won't be out on the street sleeping in a park or something, that would be awful. I do love that Jason tried to help, despite being a total brat. It shows how much he really does love his brother, which I think is usually how brothers/sisters go. Fight to the bitter end, until someone is really in trouble/hurt.

And hand checking sounds like it sucks. Dude. Wrong. Although it's kind of a bummer you didn't write that part out, it would have been funny lol

Okay, ready to see what will happen!

Chapter: 10

Ugh. Jason's plan totally would have worked, if he'd just been a little faster. My heart was racing waiting to see what happened... I'm almost surprised at Mike's level of defiance, but he was snippy in the beginning of the story toward his mom, so I can see it, in a situation like this. Part of me is proud of him for standing up to his dad, but the other part of me thinks he made it so much worse! And what will happen to Jason? (Sorry, I know that's probably not much of your concern, but I loooooovvvveeee Jason and I don't want him to be in a lot of trouble!) I guess it's good they can go to Ryan's, but I'm worried for them. Maybe Mike's mom will help smooth things over??? I can't wait to find out.

Chapter: 9

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This is what I was thinking when I read the ending of this chapter. Oh. My. God. I was so happy for them, finally they got to have a little alone time, and now this. Please update soon, I can't wait to find out if Mike's parents catch them or if Chester manages to escape, or whatever you have planned for the next chapter.
