Dead by Sunrise was pumped.

They were opening for one of the biggest groups in the world. They had been around since '04, and ever since, they had been beyond huge. The group had a rap rock genre; practically a one man band.

They were none other than Fort Minor.

Mike Shinoda was the lead of this fine group, along with some other rappers from already big name bands. This was his first band ever, and they hit it off as soon as they first released their mix tape. The emcee was an artist in his spare time, creating the cover artwork for their CD's. They had just released their second, and now new coming band Dead by Sunrise was opening for them. Mike was thrilled; he preferred smaller bands over big ones any day.

Lead singer Chester Bennington was bouncing backstage. He'd had been in one band before this, Grey Daze, but none of their stuff ever got picked up. Now he stood behind stage, about to open for Fort fucking Minor. He couldn't contain himself. He'd been a GIANT fan of Fort Minor since "We Major". Now he was standing, potentially about to meet Mr. Shinoda.

As Chester debated sitting or standing, he walked past. Mike's hair was short but shaggy, and covered partially by a ball cap. His loose jeans complemented his black shirt nicely, and he was actively typing something into his smartphone. He didn't even seem like he was on the same world.

However, Chester damn near fainted on sight.

"Mr. Shinoda?" Chester sputtered, trying to get his mind to process everything. Mike turned around, surprised someone called him by that name. "Yes?" he asked, his voice sounding that of an angel. Chester's heart melted at the sound.

"Uh, hi I'm Chester Bennington. I'm the lead for Dead by Sunrise, your opening act. Heh heh. Anyways, um, well I've been such a big fan ever since We Major and to open for you is such an honor." Chester rambled, feeling like a high school girl talking to her crush. In a way, he was.

Mike smiled at the compliment. His heart got a warm, tight feeling at hearing the compliment. Chester melted again. "Aw thanks man. I'm such a big fan of DBS too. Out of Ashes? Perfection," he spoke, as he took hold of Chester's hand to shake.

Chester's mind started screaming. Michael fucking Shinoda just called Out of Ashes perfection. Oh my god. Oh my god. Say something. SAY SOMETHING BITCH!

"Thanks Mike. Means the world to me," Chester whispered, shaking the emcee's hand. His hand was soft to the touch and Chester never wanted to let go. Mike smiled as well. He was a HUGE DBS fan. Out of Ashes was his favorite album from anyone, and more honestly, Dead by Sunrise was his favorite band. Being able to meet and shake hands with Mr. Lead Singer Man made the rapper's insides flutter. Mike reluctantly let go, and went to get ready for the show.

Chester ran off to scream into a pillow.

Dead by Sunrise went on about an hour and a half before the main performance. The crowd was pumped by their third song, and Chester couldn't think of anywhere else he wanted to be.

Besides Mike's pants, of course.

Mike watched intently from backstage, biting his lip as he watched Chester get sweatier by the second. Several people tried talking to him, but he was in a Chazy Trance. They eventually got the point and started teasing him about it. One guy tried pushing him on stage, so Mike could go hug him or something. Mike laughed it off, but as time went in, he started getting annoyed. Up until then, no one knew of his crush on Chester. And ever since he met him in person, he was all he could think about. He was head over heels in love with Chester.

Nobody let up on Mike. Some eventually died down, but a solid group still tried to get Mike to look somewhere else.

They failed.

Chester was about to launch into their second to last song when he looked over to see a group offstage watching him. Most were just talking, and one was intently watching. Mike. Chester's heart skipped two beats as this happened. He gave a small wave to the rapper, and Mike immediately blushed. Everyone in the group got into more of an uproar as his cheeks flamed up. Mike gave them all the finger as he waved back.

As Dead by Sunrise launched into their final song, Chester first skipped over to where Mike was standing. Mike instantly tried to get his blush to disappear before he saw. Chester smiled before pulling on Mike's hand, dragging him on stage. As soon as the crowd saw the rapper, they all started cheering and screaming. Mike smiled and waved to everyone, which made everyone cheer more.

"Show of hands how many of you think this man is the most talented alive?" Chester asked the crowd. Almost instantly, everyone's hand shot up, including Chester's. Mike's stomach turned fluffy as he saw all the hands. It twisted even more when he noticed Chester's hand. They both smiled, and Chester spoke again.

"How many of you love this guy?" Again, every hand shot straight up, including Chaz's. Mike's face returned to the flame its had for the majority of the evening. Chester noticed, which made his face also tint pink. Chester had one final question for the audience.

"Did you guys know that I wrote a song about this dude once?"

Mike's heart stopped as Chester's started racing. Chester had never told anyone about this song, yet everyone had heard it countless times. They all assumed that it was written for a girl, but as minds started clicking, people started to cheer. Chester got worried for a second, thinking he was doing the wrong thing. But after he turned to Mike to see his surprised smile, he knew to keep going.

"Yeah it's also our last song tonight," Chester nodded to each of the members of his band to show that they were changing the setlist a little. "Yeah. Let's go this song's called 'Give Me Your Name'"

Mike's head went fuzzy in a matter of seconds. Not only was this his favorite DBS song in the entire world, but it was written about him! Mike exhaled for what felt like the first time in his life as the band launched into the song.

Give me your hand - at that moment. Chester latched on to Mike's hand, as if he would never release again.

Mike was practically in tears of joy as he stood besides the love of his life, singing his favorite song, and having the opportunity to actually hold hands with him.

Chester's heart was overflowing with so many emotions all he could go was smile. Mike looked like a million dollars and it took every in him not to lean over and kiss him. He squeezed Mike's hand and continued.

Mike repeatedly had to tell himself he wasn't dreaming. The only person he ever loved was pretty much confessing his love to him. His breathing pattern started getting staggered, so a regular "breathe in, breathe out" voice started chanting in his head.

Chester couldn't believe this. From how Mike was responding, he was loving this. And him. Chester's stomach relaxed a little as he continued with the last few verses.

As the chords died down and the crowd erupted into applause, Mike couldn't hold back anymore. Right before Chester could continued, he locked their lips together in the most passionate kiss of 2009. Camera flashes immediately started popping up, but they were only able to notice from closed eyelids. After they fluttered shut, and Chester dropped his handheld mic, causing lots of feedback. Their hands wrapped around each other as the kiss deepened. When they finally pulled away, the two men looked at each other with shining eyes and red faces. Small, loving smiles covered their faces as well, a little "I love you" move. Mike bent over to pick up the mic, and they sang the last part of the song together.
