Angels and Demons 2 by Vampire Princess

Chapter 1

As promised, the sequel to Angels and Demons is now here! I hope that this story will live up to the first one, and I have set the bar pretty high if I do say so myself! Anyways, this one takes place after the first one, so, if you haven’t read that one, I suggest you go and read that one before you read this one.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Linkin Park nor any of the members, I do however, own the plot of this story, so please, don’t steal it.

I made this banner even before I finished the first one:

~*~*~*~*~*~*

On earth, a little boy, the age of five, sat in his room, starring up at the sky, his big brown eyes watching the clouds float past, and wondering, just wondering, if there really where such things as angels.

“Chester dear!”

“Coming mom!”

The boy turned and, combing out his brown hair, walked from the room, looking at the the sky one last time, before closing the door.

Now, the house that Chester lived in wasn't the prettiest house and it wasn't in one of the nicest parts of the neighborhood. It was all his mother could afford with a alcoholic husband. The house was small, only one story, with blue paint that was cracked and peeling off of the walls. The garden wasn't much of a garden, it was more of a patch of weeds with dead grass and a few dying rose buses around the house. The front door consisted of a sheet that was draped over the opening to the outside world. Sometimes, the little boy sat next to it and pretended that it was a doorway to a another world where he and his mother lived in a huge mansion! Sadly, dreams hardly ever come true.

~*~*~*~*~

Mike sighed as he looked down at Elbe and Danny as they ran around in the garden below, playing a game that only their five year old minds could have thought of.

“Oh Chester, if only you where still here by my side,” He whispered as he watched his daughter and son play. The two looked so much like is long lost love that it hurt him sometimes just to watch the two sleep, play, or eat. Elbe was almost exactly like Chester in her mannerisms.

He turned away from the window, knowing that the children where being watched by their nanny, and walked into the room that used to be Chesters, before the whole war had started. Now, even as the war continued around him, Mike chose to live in the room that had once belonged to his love, and left everything that the prince had in the room in it’s place, the only difference was a single picture.

The picture was of Danny and his sister Elbe when they where babies, taken only a few hours after they where born.

There were some nights, Mike had strange dreams of a little brown haired boy who would be staring straight at him with the same intense look that Chester got in his eyes. But that was impossible right? Chester couldn't be alive somewhere...could he? 'Nah, it was just his brain playing tricks on me,' thought Mike as he laid down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. 'Then again, Chester said something about angels being reborn on earth...maybe..just maybe he is still alive and waiting for me.' This thought made Mike smile softly. If this was true, maybe they were meant to be after all, maybe fate wasn't as cruel as he thought at first.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Chester ran down the stairs and into the kitchen where his blond and blue eyed mother was cooking breakfast.

“Chester dear, could you get me the bacon from the fridge?”

“Sure thing Mommy,” Chester said as he skipped happily over to the fridge.

“What where you doing up in your room son? I've been calling you for the past ten minutes.”

“I was watching the clouds mommy,” The young boy stated as he walked over with the container of bacon.

“Watching for angels?”

Chester giggled softly, “You know me mommy, I'm waiting for my guardian angel to come down and save us from the evil things in the world.”

Chester's mom stopped and turned around to look at her son.

“Guardian angel you say?”

“Yeah, I've seen him in my dreams, he's pretty! Though...for some reason he has black wings instead of white, why is that mommy?”

“I don't know dear, maybe he's special just like you,” his mother said ruffling his hair softly before taking the bacon and cooking that up.

Chester bounced happily, then ran over to the dinning room table and sat down.

“Mommy I had another dream about my guardian angel last night!”

“Really, what did he say?”

“He said that he was going to come down and see me when I got older mommy! I'm going to meet my guardian angel!”

Chester's mom laughed softly, “That's wonderful dear!”

“I know! But he didn't tell me when he was going to show up, so I dunno when I'll see him,” Chester pouted.

“I'm sure you'll see him soon Chester, you just have to be patient.”

“But I wanna see him now!” The little boy demanded.

“You do see him Chester, you see him in your dreams.”

Chester sighed and closed his eyes, “I know...I'm going to go back to my room to watch the clouds again, bye mom.” He got up from the table and walked up the stairs with a sad sigh, wishing his guardian angel would come already and save him and his mom from the evil man that lived with them.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Daddy DADDY!!!!” Elbe yelled while she ran down the hall, her brother trailing after, both of them wearing equally angry expressions.

Mike turned in bed and looked over at the doorway, “What is it El?”

“Danny pushed me in the mud!”

“Did not!”

“Yes you did! You got my pretty white dress all muddy!”

Mike sighed and watched the two siblings argue for awhile before cutting in, “Danny, you shouldn't push your sister in the mud. Elbe, what have I told you about running though the halls?”

“Um...not to?”

Mike nodded and watched as the two looked down at the ground, identical looks of shame on their faces.

“Sorry Papa,” they said simultaneously.

Mike smiles softly, “I can't stay mad at you.” He holds out his arms to hug them, and the two step into his arms, getting ingulfed in a hug. “I love you both too much to.”

Elbe and Danny smiled, “We love you too Daddy.”

Mike pulled away from the hug, “Go get washed up for dinner, I'll go see what Jon is up too.”

Elbe smiled and nodded, running off to go take a bath.

“Hey don't use all the hot water!” Danny yelled after her before running down the hall too.

“Kids,” Mike said with a smile and sad sigh, looking at the picture of Chester on the nightstand, “you would love them Chester, they're so much like you, they have your free spirit. God I miss you.” As he said this, he reached out and ran his finger gently along the picture with a small smile.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Chester's “bad man” had arrived back from his night shift at the power plant and was in the process of drinking his brains out.

“Chester!” He slurred, “come 'ere you fucking brat!”

The brown haired boy came running down the stairs.

“What is it daddy?” He asked softly, as if he was afraid to talk too loudly.

“Where is your mother brat?”

“I think she went to the store daddy.”

Steve, Chester's daddy, grumbled under his breath, “good for nothing bitch can't even be home I've told her time and time again that I was lunch ready when I get back.”

Chester winced, “I-I think she l-left to get some food b-because we didn't have any of the things you l-l-like.”

Steve sighed and glared at the kid in front of him, “What are you still doing here? Go get me something to eat you ungrateful brat!”

“Y-yes daddy,” Chester said, scurrying from the room, and into the kitchen, praying silently to his guardian angel to come soon, so save him before something really bad happened, even though he was a young boy, he was mature for his age, and had experienced things that kids twice his age didn't even know existed.

Chester sighed softly as he pulled out the latter and climbed up to the cupboards to get out the bread to make his dad a sandwich.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Mike sighed as he slowly walked though the palace, wishing, not for the first time, that Chester was still there standing next to him. Jonathan had set up an appointment with one of the elders in Heaven, to talk about the possibility of Mike going down to earth when Chester was older just to spend some time with him.

The probability of just seeing his love again, just being in the same room as him, made Mike almost giddy with happiness. The twins where currently being watched after by their nanny, which left Mike a few hours before his appointment with the elder.

Just walking around the kingdom made Mike remember all the good times, before the war, that he had with Chester. He often found himself staring at the tree where they first became lovers on that faithful night. They had finally become the lovers that they had always longed to be. Sometimes, he could swear that he saw his love standing below the tree, looking at him silently, but when Mike blinked, he was gone.

Now, that wasn't the only place that he saw his lover. Mike couldn't even sleep without dreaming of the blond angel. Sometimes, it was just Chester, smiling at him softly, others, it was Chester laying on the bed where he died, covered in blood, but still smiling at him, as if saying 'it's alright Mike, I'm going to be okay, don't worry about me.'

He often dreamt of the first time he saw the blond angel, when he was only a year old, and still gurgling and blowing bubbles with his own spit. The thought made him laugh softly, remembering how Chester would still blow bubbles with his spit when he was bored, it was one of those unconscious acts that made Mike fall in love with him.

On the other side of the kingdom, Jonathan was sill grieving over the loss of his friend and lover Chester. During the time that they were married, Jon and Chester had become really close, as close as brothers some would say. Though, others would say that King Jonathan actually loved the prince, they knew that their fair Princes' heart belonged to one person and one person only-the demon prince Micheal Shinoda.

Even though he only met the demon a few times before Chester had died, and only saw them together a handful of times, he saw the pure love that existed between the two. Michael was so gentle with Chester, always touching him so softly, as if he was afraid that he would break. But then again, there were the times that Jon had walked into the two lovers laying on the bed in the underground house

Chester was living in during the time of the war.

They were all over each other, the darker skinned demon was laying on top of the lighter skinned angel. Of course, Jon had blushed and mumbled excuses when the two saw him, which only made the demon prince laugh and the angel prince blush darkly.

~*~*~*Flashback~*~*~*

Chester shot up, pushing Mike off of him, almost causing the darker man to fall of the bed.

“Jon!” Chester squeaked.

“I-er-that is I was just checking on you and I didn't know that you had company, I'll come back later,” Jon mumbled which caused Mike to laugh.

“Quite alright Jon, you didn't know,” the demon said, wrapping an arm around his love, and placed other hand on the swell of the angels stomach.

“Right...well...I'll be going now...yeah,” Jon stated awkwardly before walking from the room. Soft giggles flowed from the room, signaling that the two lovers had gone back to their activities.

~*~*~End Flashback*~*~*

The memory made Jon sigh, god how he missed that beautiful laugh that belonged to the prince. It has been so quiet the past few years since Chester had passed away from this world, only leaving twins behind to continue on the legacy, and two very lonely guys who were pinning for a lost love.

Jon sighed again, thinking of the two kids who would probably never know what a loving person their mother was, and he only hoped that Mikes love was enough to help them grow up and become active members of the society, and Daniel would need to learn how to run the kingdom, since he was the heir to the thrown.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Chester smiled softly, playing with his little lego figures, and building a very elaborate castle that he has seen more then once in his dreams of his guardian angel. Last nights dream was different however, last night, he saw himself...but he was much older and had a pair of enormous white wings with gold highlights that spread from his back. Beside him was the angel that he had seen in his dreams, the angel with the black wings and dark colored skin.

He smiled to himself as he thought of the dark haired angel who would be his savior. For as long as he could remember, the angel had always been there in his dreams, but as the years passed, the dreams became more frequent and more elaborate.

When he had first told his mother about the angel that was in his dreams, she just smiled and nodded, thinking that it was just an imaginary friend that her young son was playing with, until the frequency of the dreams increased and Chester had actually started to draw pictures of the angel that he said was going to come and save the both of them from the bad man who was hurting them.

It was only a matter of time before the angel came down from heaven.

~*~*~*~*~*~

It was time for the meeting with the elder at last. Mike made is way to the elders home, hoping against hope that this would finally give him a way of contacting Chester.

Walking up to the house, he got even more nervous about what could happen inside, and if the elder will be able to help him. The house had obviously been there for many years. It was a simple one story house with white paint and black trimming, though the paint was slightly peeling and faded, he saw that the house was well loved, and cared for. There were shutters over some of the windows that were the color of red roses.

The garden had flowers of all kinds, from roses, to dandelions, to sunflowers. It reminded him of the garden that was outside of the house he had shared with Chester for that short time 5 years ago.

As he got to the door, he paused before raising his hand to knock softly on the door but before he could, the door opened reveling an old man, with graying hair. Mike stared at the unexpected site.

“I thought Angels weren't supposed to show age,” he said out loud.

The elder smiled, “I'm far older then I look, young one. Now, let me guess, you are the young demon who wishes to go down to earth and see is long lost love, am I right?”

Mike nodded, “Will you be able to help me?”

“I don't know, but if you'll come in, I think I have a temporary solution to your little problem.”

The elder led Mike into his house, unbelieving that he could see his love again.

“Now, don't get your hopes up,” the elder said as he looked through the many piles of paper that surrounded and old wooden desk.

“I can't get any lower then I already am though, so, if it does come out that I can't ever see him again, I'll be back to where I started from,” Mike said sadly, looking around the old house and noticing the different books, some in the old language of heaven.

“Ah ha! I found it!” The elder declared and handed him a small silver mirror, “if you look into this, and think of the person you want to see most, they will appear on the surface. Now I do not know if it will as far as the earth, but it's worth a shot.”

Mike looked at the small mirror in his hands.

“So...if I think of Chester, he'll show up?”

“That's what the mirror is for, it shows what you desire most in this world. What is it that you desire, young one?”

Mike looked up at the elder.

“I want to see my love again, that is the thing I want the most out of anything in the entire world, I can't live without seeing him anymore.”

The elder smiled softly at him, “then go young one, and think of your loved one.”

The demon nodded and thanked the elder, before turning and leaving.

“O and, one more thing,” the elder said which made Mike turn and look at him, “come back in a few weeks, I might have something that could get you down to earth, to see your lover, though...I wouldn't recommend seeing him until he is much older then he is right now.”

Mike smiled, “Great! I'll check back with you in say...a month.”

~*~*~*~*~

He sat on the rocking chair next to the twins beds, watching them sleep and smiling softly at the cute site. No matter how old the twins got, they always had the same look of complete innocence on their faces.

Elbe was laying with one hand under the pillow, supporting her head and the other was hanging off the side of the bed. A small drop of drool was making its way out of the side of her slightly opened mouth. Elbes little five year old body was turned to the side, facing her brother. Her soft blond hair was pulled up into a pony tail, her favorite hairdo since it didn't take too much effort and she could roll around and play with her brother without being bothered by her waist long hair.

Her brother Danny, was sleeping next to her in his bed, also facing her, but laying in a completely different way. He had the sheets tangled around his legs, arms thrown over head and blond curls laying softly against his forehead. No matter how hard Mike tried, he could not get the stubborn curls to do anything, and his hair was in dire need of a cut, but Danny always cried loudly whenever his daddy wanted to get it cut, saying that he wanted to grow it longer like is sister.

Mike laughed softly, thinking of Danny with long hair, it would be hard to tell the two apart if that ever happened! It was hard enough to tell them apart as it was!

He stood up with a soft sigh, going over to the bed and gently lifting up Elbes arm and placing it back on the bed, pulling up the sheets to her chin and tucking her in. He walked over to Danny and untangled the sheets from his legs, gently placing them back on the bed before pulling the sheets and blanket that had been kicked to the bottom of the bed up, tucking it into the side of the bed.

Mike stepped back and smiled softly at his beautiful kids. Leaning down he kissed both of them on the forehead and turned from the room, turning out the bed side light on the way.

Mike walked slowly down the hallway to his room, looking at the pictures on the wall that he had painted of Chester and their kids. His favorite one had to be the one of Chester laying in bed on his side, the sheet fallen down to his waist showing off the soft skin of his chest and shoulders, and a small smile on his soft pink lips. The light of the moon was shining though the open window, making his angels pale skin even paler, making him look even more beautiful.

He remembered waking up to Chester laying down next to him in the bed and he couldn't help but get out his paints and paint the innocent site of his lover sleeping peacefully. Chester never did see that picture, but Mike knew the reaction he would have had. His pale cheeks would have blushed soft pink and a smile would have appeared on his lips. Then he would throw his arms around the demon and hug him, telling his love how much he loved the picture.

Mike looked away from the picture, unable to stop the tears that made their way down his face. He opened the door to his room and went inside, closing is softly behind. Walking over to the bed, he sat on the edge, holding face in hands. Tears made their way down his soft tan cheeks and sliding down his hands, to meet their demise on the floor.

“Chester,” he sobbed, unable to control his depression at the thought of his dead love, “W-why did you have to l-leave me?”

He curled up in bed, clutching a pillow tightly to chest, and sobbing loudly into the darkness.
