Rec Center

Sorry for taking so long! Well, thing is, a review made me realize that my old first chapter wasn't needed at all, so I got rid of it and edited this one around a bit.

Chapter One: Rec Center

The 3rd to the last day of school was when I was told by a girl named Ashley that Chester had a girlfriend named Amber. This I was heartbroken over, but I figured that the relationship wouldn't last forever. I was also informed that day of Chester's last name. It was Bennington.

I first noticed Chester on my bus around half way through the school year. He boarded the bus, and I was instantly entranced by the guy. I'd never had a REAL crush, not like this one.

All those times that he sat close, I could have easily whispered a simple "hi" to him. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I was almost sure that he'd think I was strange.

Every time an attempted greeting was always stomped down by a wave of shyness and doubt. I seriously doubted he'd ever like me the way I liked him.

I had found out his name by eavesdropping on a conversation. Eavesdropping...something I did all the time. I had managed to scrape up a few things about Chester through it. Non-important details.

{Early Summer}

I was going to go swimming at the rec center. I hadn't seen Chester for weeks, as he had started riding his bike to school towards the end of the year.I changed fairly quickly. After around twenty minutes in the pool, I discovered something that made my heart leap.

Chester was there, swimming with a bunch of friends. I stared at him for a while, and then discovered that he was staring at me, too. I later discovered that my friend Mike was there, too. I had a plan now.

When there was around twenty minutes left for free swim, I swam over to Mike and asked him to ask Chester why he kept staring at me. I went into the locker room while Mike asked this question.

I returned to the pool about five minutes later. I walked into the pool, and Mike swam over. His news made my heart sink. He said that his exact words were 'Do you like that girl or something, cause you keep staring at her'. Fuck! I didn't want him saying the 'Do you like that girl' part!. He told me that Chester's response was 'I already have a girlfriend', and that the response was in a mean tone.

"Mike, you ask him whatever you want, and tell me what he says when you get home, okay?"

"Okay, see ya."

"Bye."

I went home very gloomy, and called all of my friends that didn't already know the news. I was just finished when the doorbell rang.

I answered it eagerly, and Mike handed me a piece of paper. On it was scribbled:

Chester

626-2759

1-518-878-4767

1-518-878-4766

"The top one's his house, the middle one's his cell, and the bottom's his mom's cell. He said he'd be your friend, but no dating. And he said you're kinda cute." My heart leapt about 4763495 miles at this news.

"Well, thanks. But I'm not supposed to have people here right now, so you gotta go."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."

He shut the door behind him, and a HUGE smile crept across my face.

I was friends with Chester! I hadn't actually met him, but I had his number!

I called all of my friends and told them that my previous news was a thing of the past, and that I was friends with the guy.

I'm friends with Chester...finally...

I hope you enjoyed that. Well, leave one for me! And sorry for the confusion! And another thing here. Before, I had Mike's name as Alex, but I just changed it to Mike.
