So glad to see this beauty has been posted - I think you already know my thoughts - but I wanted to review and tell you again that this was breathtakingly beautiful :)

“I pull my body back a little from the edge of the towering cliff so my eyes can’t fall on the patiently waiting ocean below.”

I like this bit. I sort of see it as a contrast- he, like the storm, was raging and nearly violent, because of muddled emotions and thoughts and different feelings. The ocean however was calm and soothing, promising relief.

“First you’re standing where I was only a few moments ago and I watch as your knees crumble and you fall to the ground, watching me falling further from you with wide, horrified eyes.”

I like this line as well. Now I'm not entirely sure if this was your intention, but I see it as Rob’s taking the place of Dave- and he’s falling. Not only literally but ‘psychologically’ as well. He’s enduring what it was Dave went through during his absence- hence the “crumbling” as he watches Dave fall to his death. Much like one of those “you don’t know what you had until it’s gone” scenarios.

Constructive criticism: Well, I’ll be honest when I say this plot has been used many times. But it was slightly different in that the pairing was something I haven’t read much of, and you inserted more than just “[insert band member here] jumped” for the ending. You described Dave’s feelings even as he hits the ocean and tie ends with showing how the storm related to Dave’s life.

Nice work. ;).

Oh my gosh this was so beautiful! You always give me great reviews so I'm gonna try and return the favour. What I particularly liked about this was as the storm got worse, the tension got worse. I could feel it building up, it was great. At the end, there was the lightning, it was like the climax before eveything ended, I thought that was amazing. I wish I could give constructive criticism ,but I can't think of any way to make this better. It was so sad, and yet,... uplifting. I absolutely loved it. well done!
